Programs
Security and Resilience
This area includes research and advocacy related to improving the national and regional security framework and building resilience against various threats in Kosovo and the Balkans. A key element of the program involves addressing community concerns, including efforts to prevent and counter any form of extremism. ISR PREVENT will work on strategies to strengthen community engagement, promote social cohesion and develop initiatives to prevent radicalization and violent extremism. This includes analyzing local security dynamics, supporting community-led security programs, and promoting collaborative approaches to improve physical and cyber security infrastructure in the region.
Climate and Security
ISR PREVENT will examine the intersection of climate change and security issues, focusing on how these dynamics affect Kosovo and the Balkan region. Our research, advocacy and intervention activities will focus on increasing community engagement in protecting the environment, preserving strategic assets and preparing communities to adapt to new ways of life in response to changes caused by climate change. Through this program, our aim is to increase community awareness of climate change and security, as well as improve basic knowledge about climate change, security and global warming. Capacity building of central and local state authorities will also be a key objective of our program.
Youth Empowerment and Digitalization
Recognizing the transformative potential of digital technologies, this field focuses on empowering young people in Kosovo and the Balkans through the development of digital skills and innovative technologies. Includes research on digital inclusion, cyber security awareness and the role of technology in fostering youth engagement and leadership in the region.
Integration in the EU
ISR PREVENT will examine the impacts of European Union policies and regulations on Kosovo and the Balkan states. This includes analyzing EU security policies, economic regulations and their impact on regional stability and cooperation.
Women, Peace and Security
This thematic area addresses the critical role of women in the processes of building peace and security in Kosovo and the Balkans. Includes research on gender perspectives in conflict resolution, women's participation in security sector reforms, and strategies to combat gender-based violence in the region.
Critical Infrastructure Protection
Focusing on protecting vital infrastructure, including energy, water and transportation systems from various threats such as natural disasters and cyber attacks. ISR PREVENT will work to improve the resilience of these infrastructure systems and develop response strategies tailored to address regional challenges.
Cyber Security
Addressing the growing threats in the digital sphere, this field includes the study of cyber threats and vulnerabilities affecting Kosovo and the Balkans. Key activities include improving cyber defense mechanisms, advocating for stronger cyber security policies, and researching methods to protect data integrity and ensure secure digital environments across the region.
